Based on the industrial Ethernet communication protocol, EtherNet/IP™ interface allows for a steady, flexible and fast communication between control systems and peripheral devices (i.e. sensors and actuators).

These MEM-Bus EtherNet/IP encoders can be easily integrated in any EtherNet/IP net, as they comply with all EtherNet/IP interface requirements, according to directives IEC61784-1. The encoder features the encoder profile 22H according to CIP™ protocol specifications.The encoders are ODVA conformant certified, including CIP Sync certification.

The encoders parameters – steps/revolution, preset number, rotation direction, speed/position alarm thresholds, unit – are set via TCP/IP. The measuring unit can be modified run-time. Besides the standard Assembly Objects 1,2,3, these encoder supports the proprietary object 110, granting a comprehensive view of parameters and alarms relating to speed and position. IP addressing can be set both by rotary switches and via software (DHCP/BOOTP)

4 two-color signalling LEDs provide the diagnostic information about the device status in the net. The encoder supports the DLR (Device Level Ring) functionality, granting continuity in operation even in case of net interruptions.

MEM-Bus encoders are supplied in multiturn version with 29 bit resolution (8192 steps/revolution x 65536 revolutions).

Different mechanical versions are available to satisfy all application requirements: square flanged, round flanged with servo coupling, and with hollow shaft to couple directly to a motor shaft; all the types offer different options for the shaft/hole diameter. The electrical connection is by 3 M12 connectors.

The stout aluminium case ensures a high protection degree, so that it is possible to apply MEM-Bus encoders in severe industrial environments.

The innovative electronic construction technology – involving no mechanical gear –allows to reach high acceleration and speed values and grants the transducer long life.

MEM-Bus EtherNet/IP are UL certified for the Canadian and United States market.
