Privacy Policy

In the Privacy policy of Althen we describe how we handle your personal data. This Privacy policy explains what information we collect and what options you have regarding the collection & registration of your personal information. The Privacy policy applies to all our customers (worldwide) and may change from time to time due to new developments or legislation. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy from time to time so you will know if the Privacy Policy has been changed or updated.

What information do we collect from you?

For processing quotations and orders we need your company details and personal data. Personal data are data that can be traced back to individual natural persons. We register this information in our ERP system and our Outlook e-mail system. We use your data for sending quotations, orders and for maintaining personal contact via e-mail and telephone.What data do we collect?

Unless you sign up for our newsletter, we do not use your e-mail address for marketing e-mailings. If you request a quote without placing an order, we will delete your personal data after 2 years. The organizational data is saved. This is historical data and we need to do business analyzes. You can request to view, change or delete your personal data via sales@althen.nl (Please note that we are not allowed to delete the contact details of orders & orders within 2 years. We are obliged toa statutory retention period of seven years.)


Online Store Software


Our webshop is developed with software from WooCommerce. Personal data that you make available to us for the purpose of our services will be shared with this party. WooCommerce has access to your data to provide us with (technical) support, they will never use your data for any other purpose. WooCommerce is obliged to take appropriate security measures on the basis of the agreement we have concluded with them. These security measures consist of the application of SSL encryption, a strong password policy and secure data storage. WooCommerce reserves the right to share collected data within its own group and affiliated partners in order to further improve the service. WooCommerce takes into account the applicable legal retention periods for (personal) data.

Payment methods


We use the Mollie platform to handle (part of) the payments in our webshop. Mollie processes your name, address and residence details and your payment details such as your bank account or credit card number. Mollie has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Mollie reserves the right to use your data to further improve the service and to share (anonymised) data with third parties in this context. All the above-mentioned guarantees with regard to the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Mollie's services for which they engage third parties. Mollie does not store your data for longer than permitted by law.

Shipping and logistics


When you place an order with us, it is our job to have your package delivered to you. We use the services of various postal services such as GLS, DPD and () to carry out the deliveries. It is therefore necessary that we share your name, address and residence details with the couriers. The courier only uses this information for the purpose of executing the agreement. In the event that the postal service engages subcontractors, it will also make your data available to these parties.

Job application

If you apply for a job at Althen, we will keep your motivation letter and curriculum vitae. This information can be viewed by the Human Resources department and the relevant department. If no agreement is reached, we will destroy your CV after two months and remove it from our digital files, unless you indicate in writing that we may retain your data for longer. If an employment contract comes out, your CV will be stored in a closed closet. Only the Human Resources department has access to this information.

Newsletter

We regularly send newsletters to customers and interested parties. We use the email systems MailChimp and Campaign Monitor for this. We only send our newsletter if you, as the owner of the email address, agree with the subscription. After signing up for our newsletter you will receive a sign-up link to ensure that you are the person who signs up for our newsletter. After confirming via this link, your e-mail address will be added to the mailing list. If you no longer wish to receive a newsletter from us, you can unsubscribe via unsubscribe from the newsletter or via e-mail to marketing@althen.nl.

We use the MailChimp statistics to analyze how relevant our newsletter content is to our readers. Which subjects are widely read and which subjects are less interesting for our reader. Based on this, we make our future newsletters.

Request quotations that are send to sales@althen.nl in response to our newsletter will be processed by engineers. The personal data you have enhanced will be stored in the ERP system, in order to process your application further and to contact you. The Marketing department does use this personal data for further marketing.
